Is it safe to link bank accounts to a net worth app?

The short answer

Linking accounts to a net worth app is generally safe when the app uses read-only access through a regulated aggregator, never stores your bank password, encrypts access tokens, requires strong sign-in such as passkeys with two-factor, and does not sell your data. Check all five before connecting.

A five-point checklist

  • Read-only: the app cannot move money or trade
  • No passwords stored: connection via a provider token
  • Tokens encrypted with managed keys
  • Passkeys or strong 2FA, and re-verification for sensitive actions
  • A business model that isn't selling your data or products

How Worthken does it

Worthken is read-only by architecture, signs you in with passkeys and mandatory 2FA, encrypts provider tokens with KMS-managed keys, end-to-end encrypts your vault, keeps balances out of logs, and is paid for by subscriptions, not ads.
